Publishers Letter. March 2012
Dear Natural Awakenings Readers and Friends,
Greetings! Welcome to our 3rd Anniversary issue! We have been publishing Natural Awakenings each month for the past 3 years in New York City. In this abundant issue of growth, we feature excellent content on local foods, urban farming, nationwide farming trends and updates on the 2012 Farm Bill.
The word farming makes me think of family and we have an excellent brief on page 10, called “Little Thumbs”. Children really do absorb peace, creativity and prosperity when they grow something from a seedling. As this spring arrives, you many want to consider growing some of your own potted herbs to accompany produce that you may pick up from your local green market. New York is making amazing progress with importing local produce from our countless farms in the tri-state area and also directly in New York with the rooftop gardens that are emerging in the sky, see page 18. Speaking of our future and future generations, we have a nice spread on page 20-21 that talks about career opportunities ahead for our little ones in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
We here at Natural Awakenings are becoming really excited about the Earth Day events that are coming to New York in April. We look forward to meeting you at the various locations we will be at across NY to prepare for a better world tomorrow. Our April issue will have all of these events outlined for you, so make sure you continue to pick us up at your local market, your lobby or at the vast amount of places we are located in New York.
Again, thank you for picking us up and we hope to have planted a seedling of wellness in your future by sharing this issue with you!
Feel good, live simply, laugh more,
