On Saturday, October 22, 2011, Dharma Yoga Center, Off the Mat NYC, Natural Awakenings Magazine, and Project Futures Global will host an evening of Dharma Yoga practice, awareness, and social activism in order to unite the community and raise money for the Somaly Mam Foundation.

SMF supports the women and children caught in the horrors of the sex-trade industry in Southeast Asia, run by Somaly Mam, a survivor of the industry herself, who strives to shed light on this injustice.  The evening will include presentations on Somaly Mam and her foundation, Project Futures Global, and Off the Mat NYC. A meditative and healing Dharma II practice will be dedicated to the empowerment and healing of the survivors and Kirtan, devotional singing for healing, unity, and peace among all humanity will be performed with special musical guests Cori Barger and Amber Tawn. Join us Oct. 22nd and create social activism through yoga!  

 

This event will take place at Dharma Yoga Center, 61 West 23rd Street, 6th Floor from 4-7pm.

Suggested donation: $25 minimum.
