Brooklyn Open Acupuncture is permanently closed. Businesses, services, and resource providers are currently faced with overwhelming pressure to reopen safely without sufficient economic and structural support, and our closure comes in the context of overwhelming loss. It’s also a moment of growing collective power and mutual aid, and as we work towards finding our places in the work to support BIPOC led movements and initiatives for sustainable care, we’re grateful for the history of our clinic as a resource to draw from. For close to nine years, we were the largest sliding scale acupuncture clinic with the lowest rates in New York City, providing 140,000 treatments to over 19,000 people. We're grateful to all the people who were treated in our space, the desk workers, the office managers, and all the practitioners for being the heart of Brooklyn Open Acupuncture.
