This year the New York Open Center is bringing back it's Integrative Thanatology Certificate Training, the signature program of The Open Center’s Art of Dying Institute. The 18-session Zoom series will begin with an introductory class from 7 to 9 p.m. on January 15. It will conclude with a student capstone weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 26 and 27.

This comprehensive, online professional certification program is designed to reframe the current concept of dying and end-of-life care, reclaim lost wisdom and helpful cultural practices, and provide innovative and holistic approaches to living, dying, and death. 

Leading experts and pioneers in the field of death and dying will provide healthcare practitioners and those with an interest in this topic with a unique set of skills to deepen their understanding of the spiritual, psychological, social, and physical aspects of the dying experience. 

The Association of Death Education and Counseling has deemed this program as counting toward the continuing education requirements for the ADEC Certification in Thanatology. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for many of the workshops in this training.
