New York Open Center Develops Digital Toolkit for Stressed Workers
The New York Open Center has created New Yorkers for New York, a digital stress-
reduction toolkit for the city’s frontline and essential workers as well as the greater
community.
Designed by industry experts and offered for free through donations from Open
Center instructors, this easy-to-use resource consists of videos and written tutorials
that typically take less than 15 minutes to complete. The videos can be saved for use
as quick exercises when needed.
Movement videos include Chair Yoga, with Lakshmi Volker; Breathing 1,2,3, with
Jean McClelland; and Yoga for Anxiety, with Amy Weintraub. Mindfulness videos
include Tapping for Stress Relief, with Jackie Simek, and Tips for Anxiety Relief, with
Melissa Tiers. Inspirational videos include Resilience Practices for the Frontline,
from Joan Borysenko, and Finding Inspiration in Trying Times, from Dan Millman.
The toolkit also includes links to articles on wellness and self-care.
