Namaste on Track Benefits Armory Foundation

The inaugural Namaste on Track, scheduled for November 11 at the Armory Track and Field Center, will include classes led by four renowned yoga teachers. Proceeds benefit the Armory College Prep, Armory College Prep Middle School and the Armory Foundation, a New York City nonprofit with the mission of “Keeping Kids on Track.”

Classes will be taught by Taryn Toomey (9-10:30 a.m.), Elizabeth Barnett (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), Elena Brower (1-2:30 p.m.) and Sri Dharma Mittra (3-4:30 p.m.).

“We’re looking forward to welcoming these four prominent teachers and participants to our first ever Namaste on Track,” said Rita Finkel, co-president of the Armory Foundation. “Their respective backgrounds are synonymous with the rising popularity of yoga and its support to a healthy lifestyle. This is a new and unique way to make excellent use of our historic and state-of the art track and field center.”

Those wishing to participate can sign up for one of the following: the Enlightenment Program, $27, for admission to one class; the Bliss Program, $50, which adds early access to the event floor and a T-shirt; and the Zen Program, $100, which adds “the satisfying knowledge you are contributing to our heralded Armory College Prep,” Finkel says.
