Edgar Cayce, (March 18, 1877 – January 3, 1945) was known as the "Sleeping Prophet" and gave what was known as “readings” on thousands of different topics, including holistic healing. He is the most recorded psychic that ever lived and was featured in the New York Times in 1910.  He is considered by many "The Father of Holistic Medicine" because he lived before the emergence of the New Age movement and influenced many of its teachings.  His clairvoyant abilities made him a celebrity of his time and he founded a nonprofit organization, called the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.), to research and explore subjects such as holistic health, ancient mysteries, personal spirituality, dreams and dream interpretation, intuition, philosophy and reincarnation. A.R.E.'s stated mission is to help people change their lives for the better through the ideas and information found in the Edgar Cayce readings.

A Painful Cyst Disappears

My brother-in-law Scott had a cyst on his back which made it painful for him to sit. I found out about it when I picked him up at the airport along with two of his friends who were physicians. He was in a great deal of pain while sitting in the car. They wanted to stop at a drugstore to pick up a scalpel so they could lance the cyst when we got home. I suggested using a castor oil pack instead. In the rearview mirror, I could see the doctors rolling their eyes. Recently, Scott had used the Cayce remedy for sprained ankles successfully, so he trusted my advice. I soaked a piece of gauze in castor oil and placed on the cyst, covered it with clear plastic and put a heating pad on top of it for an hour. When I removed the gauze, the cyst had opened and the pus was released. The pain was gone. He continued the treatment five days a week for a month. After a month, you couldn't even see where the cyst had been.

 

Relief for My Infected Tooth

While I was having a root canal, the endodontist discovered a cyst in my infected tooth. He wanted to send me to an oral surgeon to remove the cyst before he could finish the procedure. When I told him I wanted to try an alternative treatment, he looked at me like I was crazy. For one week, I placed a cosmetic pad soaked in castor oil beside the tooth between my cheek and gum. I then placed another soaked pad outside on my cheek, covered it in clear plastic and put a heating pad on top of it for an hour each day. The next week, I placed a castor oil-soaked pad between my cheek and gum for two hours each day. When I returned to the dentist in two weeks, he was able to finish the procedure. He said that as bad as it had looked before, that’s how good it looked now. Yet he never asked me what I had done.

 

Grapefruit-Sized Ovarian Cyst Gone

For ovarian cysts and fibroids, Cayce also advised douching with products frequently mentioned in his readings—Glyco-Thymoline and Atomidine. A friend of mine had an ovarian cyst the size of a grapefruit. She placed a castor oil pack over her abdomen and applied a heating pad over it for an hour, four days a week. She also alternated douches that included these two formulas. The first week, she started feeling better. In three months, a sonogram revealed that the cyst was gone.
